Recent years have seen rapid transformations in our modes of academic exchange, with digital platforms now integral to cross-border collaboration. Meanwhile, geopolitical developments and evolving regulatory trends continue to reshape the competitive landscape. Today, competition law is confronted with emerging complexities—from the implications of generative AI to shifting market paradigms that challenge existing frameworks. These developments call for renewed intellectual engagement.

Against this backdrop, ASCOLA Asia remains committed to cultivating vibrant scholarly networks and offering a rigorous platform for dialogue across jurisdictions. Our shared momentum continues to build.




ASCOLA Asia: Continuing Momentum in Regional Dialogue



The return to in-person engagement is no longer just a milestone; it is become our standard. Our flagship event, the ASCOLA Asia Annual Regional Workshop, convened in hybrid format in Kyoto on the 1st of December 2023, marking not just a reunion, but a renewal of purpose. With new members joining, the network continues to thrive. Looking ahead, we are delighted to announce that the 2025 Workshop will take place this October in Fukuoka. We remain committed to fostering cross-border academic dialogue and sustaining the spirit of intellectual exchange and camaraderie that defines ASCOLA Asia. Stay engaged.

Asia has a unique market structure, and its countries encompass a diverse range of laws and rules and societal political backgrounds. From these, researchers can obtain an abundance of lessons and experiences. To explore these, ASCOLA seeks new insights and perspectives from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds. Given the dramatically changing market structure and the scale of challenges it creates, we need a consistent flow of new information and knowledge. We wholeheartedly welcome your input.
