Fostering Closer Relationships amongst ASCOLA Members in Asia



Hello, ASCOLA Asia. Having successfully launched a series of regional activities in fall 2019, we have now entered the second phase. During the Covid-19 pandemic, digital service has changed the way we interact with each other and made digital services even more critical. Meanwhile, the geopolitical situation is changing as sovereign states introduce restrictive measures that affect international trade. Competition laws and policies now face new sets of challenges, such as generative AI and metaverse, which require further research and attention. As scholars continue to work, ASCOLA Asia will provide an intellectual platform and establish networks by fostering closer relationships amongst its members.




ASCOLA Asia In-Person Activities Are Back



We are back! In Asia, countries’ borders remained closed for a long time and most ASCOLA activities, which include online seminars and workshops as well as What’s On , could be held only online. At last, the border became open and we have resumed flying and travelling globally. Our flagship event, ASCOLA Asia Annual Regional Workshop will take place in Kyoto in person, plus online (hybrid). We look forward to our reunion and welcoming new members at Kyoto University on 1st of December 2023.




Building Broader and Stronger Research Networks across Asia



Asia has a unique market structure, and its countries encompass a diverse range of laws and rules and societal political backgrounds. From these, researchers can obtain an abundance of lessons and experiences. To explore these, ASCOLA seeks new insights and perspectives from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds. Given the dramatically changing market structure and the scale of challenges it creates, we need a consistent flow of new information and knowledge. We wholeheartedly welcome your input.
